Squeamishness, I think. To be fair, what Barty has them doing at present--while necessary of course--is hardly the most glamourous of jobs. It's less perplexing than Runge going over, that's for certain.

Are you afraid we won't take good care of Freddie if he joins? I don't think you've much to worry about. It's a different sort of circle we're building, after all. Karo's even courting her old school chum, Clearwater. There's a boring chit if ever there was one, but she might get on well with the new order.

Lestrange v.2, from what I hear, was motivated by her own carnal desires. Mummy wouldn't let her have the boy she wanted. Runge has no mistress, as far as I've found out.

Anyway, no, Morgana defend if I ever took that slag into bed. Good enough for the likes of Weasley but if she joins, it will only be for the sort of grunt work no one else cares to do!

My year -- no. Well, maybe Gregory Goyle, but you know he was put in with the hostages last week. Might have dimmed his enthusiasm a bit.

The year ahead of me, though, there's Cormac McLaggen, I knew him a bit since he was in my House. And two years ahead there's Geoff Hooper. In Cormac's year there's also Troy Derwent and Lares Tamblyn, but I didn't know them all that well.

Yeah, I know all of those blokes. Or know of them. McLaggen is out of the question, I think. The others might be worth looking into--probably already are being looked into, in fact.

Me, personally? No clue. Someone is probably keeping tabs on those things.

Seriously, though. Patil wasn't your only mate, was she? What about that Jugson kid? He's Lestrange's daughter's cousin. He's not a traitor like her, is he?

Look, I might as well be direct. I'm asking about your mates because you're loads better in a duel than I expected. You were almost as challenging as Evan, and he's the one in my sett I prefer to train with. Annoying div, but he's more solid than Singh or Willet. I reckon it's cos your lot got years with Raz Lestrange and Antonin Dolohov training you up. And then the Lestrange girl, she practically had an intensive with Crouch.

Do you know how coveted that is?

Guess I was hoping she might have taught her cousin a thing or two. But if he's loyal I suppose she'd not have bothered.

Anyway Padma's not writing back to me and I'm not sure if she even has her diary with her, if she's their prisoner.

I've been thinking about the traitors, though. I might be able to get some of them to talk back to me, or read the things I say. Push them to do something stupid. Draco Malfoy -- Harry was his best friend. ~~I know how it feels to lose~~ Not only that, he actually cast Bellatrix Lestrange's curse on Harry. I don't know if I could get him to write back to me but it might be worth a try?

I mean, I saw where Malfoy was claiming he killed the Lord Protector single-handedly, but I didn't really look into what he meant by that.
